HALF BOTTLE - Wairau River Reserve Botrytised Riesling 2022 37.5cl
First planted in 1873 it is known in the region by the Maori name, Kei puta te Wairau meaning ‘the place with the hole in the cloud’ due to its very high 2,410 sunshine hours a year.
Botrytis, also known as Noble Rot, is a condition that affects thin skinned grapes under certain weather conditions (requires misty mornings and sunny afternoons). It causes them to dehydrate which makes the grapes shrivel and concentrate the sugars creating sweet wines. This rich botrytis affected Riesling has an intense complex nose with aromas of honey, orange and lime marmalade. These characters translate generously onto the palate and are complemented by soft textured fruit and balancing acidity.
Intensely concentrated luscious flavours stack the palate of this wine. The botrytis concentration is classic, defined by a honeyed toastiness
that mingles with the fruit derived marmalade and dried apricot characters. A remarkable wine that will endure and evolve over many years of cellaring.

Delivery
We deliver nationwide and offer a quick and convenient service.
How much does it cost?
Local delivery is free of charge within 35 miles of Nailsworth when ordering 12 full-size wines or more.
Nationwide delivery is charged at £12.95 per case of 12 full-size wines.
Vinotopia Wine Club members receive a monthly free nationwide delivery as part of their membership.
Please note that for remote parts of the country, such as 'highlands and islands' the delivery may take a couple days longer and may cost more than £12.95 per case. Please get in touch for a quote
How long does it take?
Typically two or three days. But experience warns us not to promise that this will always happen, so if you need something by a certain date, give us a ring, and we will do our best to ensure it happens.
What time will it arrive?
Usually deliveries take place between 8am to 7pm, Monday to Friday.
Do I need to be at the delivery address when my wine arrives?
Not if you have told us that your wine can be left somewhere for you. Make sure you leave clear instructions when you place your order - there is an opportunity to do this when you pay. Alternatively, the driver will leave a card with a telephone number for you to ring to rearrange delivery another time, following which you must do so within 3 days or the wine will come back to us.
Finally...
When you’ve got hold of your wine, do inspect it as soon as possible. In the extremely unlikely event that something is broken or missing, let us know straight away so that we can sort it out for you.
